Job Description

This is a quota carrying sales position focused on technology with a career track as a consultative sales professional.

The Technology Services Industry Association (TSIA) is a for profit membership organization that helps technology and services organizations both large and small grow and advance by providing world-class business frameworks, best practices based on real-world results, detailed performance benchmarking, exceptional peer networking opportunities, and high-profile certification and awards programs.  TSIA hosts two large educational and research based conferences per year that includes over 1600 services executives from around the world.

Scope of Responsibilities

The TSIA Sales Specialist, Membership Development is responsible for researching target companies to identify specific decision makers.  A key component of this role is the ability to call into the executive suite and navigate across an organization, generating interest in TSIA’s services and securing initial executive meetings with qualified decision makers.  The Specialist will also follow-up on MQL (marketing qualified leads) from inbound lead generation activities.  The specialist primary responsibility is securing a meeting for the sales executive that manages the opportunity to closure.  Compensation is constructed of base pay plus variable for meetings set that result in closed membership.

A successful Sales Specialist, Membership Development at TSIA will demonstrate the ability to speak with senior executives of mid to large size companies over the phone and in correspondence in email.  Effectively communicating our impactful value proposition will require exceptional phone and writing skills.  Persistence in driving towards a meeting objective will consist of both quantity and quality metrics through our analytics dashboard.   The candidate will be part of a regional team and will require teamwork.   The learning curve is step to fully understanding our eight practice disciplines for an engaging conversation with an executive.  This is an inside sales position with little to no travel required.

Skills & Experience

  • Strong business acumen with the ability to speak with senior executives
  • Exceptional oral and written communication is required.
  • Strong listening skills with the ability to learn quickly and assimilate information
  • Meticulous attention to detail and follow through using our CRM (SFDC) and the ability to manage schedules efficiently and effectively
  • Fluency in technology software and other applications is preferred with special emphasis on, LinkedIn Navigator, research and internet search engines.
  • 3-5 years of sales required
  • BA or BS degree, MBA preferred
