This session will cover challenges encountered and experiences gathered in the transition from professional services towards managed services.
Historically, the professional services team (part of the global Informatics business unit within an established product company) has been centered around COTS software and applications. Over the last two years, Informatics has experienced demand for managed services, delivering solutions as well as providing operational & value sustainment services.
Our vision is to build a managed services practice with outcome-based, value pricing. In this session, we will openly discuss the initial status, business challenges, leadership vision, steps and actions taken to realize that vision. Organizational, structural and staff challenges encountered, steps taken to address them, and the outcomes realized will conclude the session. This will be a talk from the field, inviting participants to share and contribute.
