Addressing Early Challenges in Service Operations for Reliance Jio through Grass-root Innovation
Reliance Jio India is likely to be one of the largest 4G networks globally, once launched commercially in coming months. Cisco has implemented its largest global IP-MPLS deployment here with ASR920, ASR903, ASR9K routers and Nexus products. Cisco Services are engaged through a staff-augmentation model to help build operational capability as part of PBOT (Plan, Build, Operate, Transfer) framework. The scale (designed for over 100 million 4G customers across 70% of country’s geography), speed /growth (it is planning to have around 5 million customers before launch) and complexity (to provide VoLTE, VoWiFi, high quality video among other applications) present unique challenges for early stage network operations.
This presentation aims to share some of the innovative grass-route approaches being undertaken e.g. measurement of network entropy (parameters that lead to unpredictable behaviors) to arrive at systemic solutions for service quality, automation of operational activities to enhance trouble-shooting capability and increasing network up-time.

TSIA is well worth the investment. This is the one place where you can come and get a fusion of ideas that you can then marry up to the goals and objectives of your organization and boil that down into several actionable plans that you can implement over the next 6 months to a year.
