Google Clouds strategy for delivering professional services to customers is designed for co-delivery with our GTM Partners. Increasingly, our preferred model is to have Partners lead engagements, with Google Cloud Professional Services supporting the Partner. Managing co-delivery risk in this model is a complex task, especially on large digital transformation projects. Typical risk management strategies that may work well in a vendor-as-prime contractor model quickly become ineffective.
In this presentation, well share Google's framework, which is based on a continuum of leading, real-time, and lagging indicators, to address this need. Well begin with how we can sharpen the use of lagging indicators. While these are still reactive by design, a well-defined measure, coupled with an efficient process for gathering and harnessing these insights, is still useful. Well then show how to enrich this with real-time indicators generated through a multi-tiered delivery governance model. The presentation will conclude with an overview of predictive and leading indicators, which are defined at the Practitioner level, and well summarize how this combination of measures and approaches can be a powerful tool in managing delivery risk and even mitigating it.
