Over the last year, member inquiries on the application of the Metaverse and associated technologies to education services have significantly increased. To identify potential Metaverse applications for learning and measure consumer appetite for such enhanced learning experiences, TSIA Research synthesized customer satisfaction and buying behavior from our benchmark data with research from over a dozen industry webinars and articles. Then, we dug deeper with several members to find out the impact of their early Metaverse investments. TSIA Research found solid evidence that enhanced learning experiences can provide double-digit growth in customer purchases, consumption, and satisfaction; early applications to hardware-based training can save millions in support costs; and there are practical scenarios of the Metaverse for software and conceptual training, as well.
In a virtual training-dominant world, Metaverse-enabled offerings can provide unique benefits to both learners and their associated companies. The required user technologies are affordable, and platforms/services to build and host Metaverse-based offerings are becoming increasingly abundant. With analyst predictions that the Metaverse will represent an almost $800 billion opportunity by 2024, and almost 60% of recently surveyed $1 billion-plus companies committing to investment in the Metaverse for employee development over the next two years, members should build their Metaverse-enabled training strategies now to avoid being left behind.
