The accelerated adoption of the SaaS business and technology model by the market has dramatically changed the way software is evaluated, procured, budgeted, supported and upgraded. Cloud offerings have quickly evolved from infrastructure to point solutions to horizontal applications to now industry-specific mission critical solutions. But has the actual work and activities required to implement software and prepare the customer for a successful go-live changed? Does where the software is hosted (cloud vs. on premise), or how it is architected and operated (multi-tenant vs. single-tenant), or how it is procured and budgeted (OPEX/recurring vs. CAPEX/perpetual license) really affect how it is implemented? Don’t requirements still need to be gathered and mapped, software configured and customized, data cleansed and converted, interfaces defined and coded, testing confirmed, training and change management rolled-out, surrounded by strong project management and governance? In this session we will examine how the race to the Cloud impacts the who, what, where and how within the Professional Services organization. What has changed? What hasn’t? And what is the future state of professional services and classic implementation work in a Cloud-centric world?
TSIA is well worth the investment. This is the one place where you can come and get a fusion of ideas that you can then marry up to the goals and objectives of your organization and boil that down into several actionable plans that you can implement over the next 6 months to a year.
