Events Manager

JOB DESCRIPTION

We are seeking a dynamic, positive Conference Manager to play a critical role involved in all aspects of speaker relationship management and session content curation for TSIA’s semiannual hybrid conferences: both virtual and onsite. This role facilitates the internal and external support needed to ensure an efficiently run event experience for the TSIA community. This position collaborates closely with cross-functional teams at TSIA including research executives, marketing, and product.

This is a full-time position located in San Diego, CA, with 100% company-paid Medical, Dental and Vision Insurance and matching 401K plan for employee.

RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Management of Call for Speakers for each event as well as “year round” speaker pipeline
  • Primary speaker point of contact to include status of engagement, and assisting with demos and other in-session needs
  • Build processes and timelines to help curate timely industry content, and ensure a positive end-to-end experience for speakers
  • Work with internal an external vendors on AV, marketing, etc., to get full picture of speaker requirements
  • Craft speaker communications that keeps things clear and simple; and collect necessary information for the speaker’s session
  • Ensure speaker portals on digital platforms are configured with optimum efficiency in mind
  • Track speaker deliverables and performance
  • Lead content reviews with internal committee of subject matter experts to assist in curating compelling content that will attract strong audience participation
  • Lead agenda planning process to include number of sessions needed for each research practice, aligning with onsite space availability
  • Assign speakers to the Agenda and keep it up-to-date leading up to the conference
  • Staff and train internal teams and vendors on session and speaker related needs and manage related staffing budget
  • Equip the internal teams with the appropriate information needed for them to cascade to external stakeholders

QUALIFICATIONS

  • 5+ years of speaker management experience for onsite and virtual events
  • Certified Meeting Professional (CMP) preferred
  • Superior analytical skills that include the ability to see the many, granular moving parts of an event, as well as the big picture
  • Ability to manage projects from conception to implementation and communicate key milestones as progress is made
  • A dual-minded approach: highly creative, but can also be strategic, process-driven, think scale, and use data to make decisions
  • Experience using programs like: Excel/Google Sheets, Microsoft Office, and event platforms like Aventri etc
  • Familiarity with Wrike or similar project management systems a plus
  • Bachelor’s degree

REQUIREMENTS

  • Travel to semiannual conferences for live events, and in preparation for future conferences
