MULTI-MEMBER STUDIES

In addition to TSIA Research deliverables available to all members as a core membership benefit, TSIA conducts Multi-Member Studies that provide in-depth benchmarking data on specific topics of interest to the TSIA member community.  Multi-member studies go far deeper into specific topics with member data than any other type of research that we do.

In 2012, TSIA will be conducting the following multi-member studies:

DESCRIPTION

2011 QUARTER

SERVICE DISCIPLINE

2012 Project Performance Study

This study collects detailed project performance benchmarks as well as policies and practices information related to project management and project metrics analysis.

Q1

PS

2012 PS Market Rates Study

In its sixth year, the study collects detailed global pricing data, along with in-depth policies and practices information related to pricing management and strategy.

To conduct this research, TSIA employs a consortium model:  member companies join in the study for a nominal fee, contribute their data, and receive detailed benchmarks in return.  Using this model, TSIA very quickly and inexpensively gathers benchmark datasets on highly relevant topics to our members.

The benefits to member companies are manifold.  They avoid the time and effort of engaging a traditional research or consulting organization to try and collect this type of data.  They avoid bearing the full cost themselves of such an endeavor, oftentimes exceeding $100K per study.  And finally, they are assured of receiving benchmarking data that is specific to embedded technology services, an assurance that is difficult, if not impossible, to find elsewhere.

TSIA Multi-Member Studies are open to TSIA members only. There are three levels of participation for each study:

  • Steering Committee Members guide the development of the research, contribute data to the study, and receive all study deliverables (lowest cost).
  • Contributing Participants contribute data to the study, and receive all study deliverables (medium cost).
  • Non-participating Subscribers do not contribute data to the study, and will not have access to the study report until after the four-month “quarantine” period (highest cost).

Once the study is completed, each participating member company receives a full suite of deliverables:

  • Participant-only webcast presentation of the key study findings
  • Participant-only copy of the presentation slide deck
  • Participant-only company-confidential data file of study results
  • Complete study report in PowerPoint format
  • Inquiry time with TSIA experts to address specific questions about the study and its implications for the participating member company

Each study is “quarantined” for a four-month period after completion. Non-participating subscribers will only have access to the content once the quarantine has expired.

For 2012, TSIA will offer multi-member studies in our Professional Services discipline. If your company is interested in participating in upcoming multi-member studies, or would like access to historical studies, please contact your membership development director, or email us at info@tsia.com.
