Study Overview
The TSIA Project Performance Study is a multi-member survey of technology professional services (PS) project performance.  In addition to capturing three dozen project performance metrics across a broad range of PS businesses (see below), the Study also includes the collection and analysis of company and PS profile data, as well as project management practices.  Participating member companies contribute data to the Study and share in the Study findings.

The result of the Study is a rich understanding of common project management practices together with an unprecedented compilation of hundreds of project performance data points from actual PS organizations.  Respondent anonymity—individual and company—is maintained for all participants.  The identity of participating companies is not published.

Study Scope
The specific items to be captured in the survey each year are determined by TSIA Research and the Study Steering Committee. The TSIA Project Performance Study typically includes coverage of, but is not limited to:

  • Project Management/Metrics Policies and Practices
  • 40+ items covering six major categories:  project pricing, project staffing, project management, customer satisfaction measurement, project close processes and project accounting
  • Project Performance Data
  • 50+ actual project performance metrics covering six major categories: basic project information, product/solution maturity, resourcing, schedule performance, pricing and financials, and project close

Study Deliverables
Contributing participants will be provided the following deliverables:

  • Participants-only results webcast
  • Data file of results (anonymous, and pending participating members’ approval)
  • Presentation deck and study report in PDF format
  • Inquiry time with TSIA analysts to address specific questions about the Study

Access to Study Results
Once the Study analysis is complete, only contributing participants have access to the Study results. Upon completion of the Study, TSIA retains the right to refer to high-level Study results in member webcasts, event presentations and other TSIA Research.

After a quarantine period of four months, Study results will be made available for purchase by non-participating TSIA member companies. Study results are not available to non-member companies at any time.
